On this day in 1915, Eddie Stanky was born. Also birthday wishes go out to Luis Gonzalez, Matt Capps, and Domic Brown! As I spend a lot of time writing and talking about management, and decision making, I found that hiring to be quite interesting, of course. He’s caught Ben Sheets, Randy [...] Two weeks ago, the Arizona Diamondbacks released Eric Byrnes, agreeing to pay his $11 million salary for 2010 while he played for another team. The Seattle Mariners are that team. They signed Byrnes to a league minimum contract, roughly $450,000 yesterday. The remaining balance on his salary will come from the D’backs.
