On this day in 1939, the first ever baseball game was televised.  NBC broadcasted a game at Brooklyn’s Ebbets Field as the Dodgers played host to the Cincinnati Reds in a day-night doubleheader, with the night game being broadcast.  The teams split the games that day, according to www.nationalpastime.com.
