December 22, 1915 - The Federal League, a professional league that competed briefly with the National and American Leagues, is officially dissolved. The decision resulted in a Supreme Court ruling that the Sherman Antitrust Act did not apply to the MLB and effectively ended any and all attempts of creating an independent major league.
