Former Major League outfielder Gabe Kapler started the Gabe Kapler Foundation to raise awareness for domestic violence. His wife, Lisa, suffered from abuse in a previous relationship and began to take classes to become more educated on these issues. Gabe, with the help of his wife, used his baseball platform to raise awareness for those who have suffered from domestic violence.

This foundation works closely with organizations that run 30-day emergency and 9-month transitional shelters that provide victims the education and support they need to free themselves from their abusers. These organizations provide support including monthly medical exams, workshops, and childcare.

In 2011, Kapler hosted the “Spend an Evening in Bed with Duxiana Luxury Beds and Gabe Kapler” fundraiser. This event raised over $10,000 for the fight against domestic violence.

Trying to get up with Gabe & Lisa. Lisa worked with my wife Sonja when he played with the Fayetteville Generals. They live in Cal.?? But don’t have their to talk to them again.

Follow the link to the Kapler foundation and contact them through that site…. that should get you to them. We just highlight the charities, we aren’t directly connected to them.
