After five years of being cancer free, Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Jon Lester continues to fight cancer for others. Lester launched the campaign NVRQT (“Never Quit”), a rally cry for the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation. Lester is raising awareness and money that goes towards children’s cancer research. With Lester’s support, the PCRF hopes to raise over $30 million dollars by the end of the year.
Lester, who was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2006, felt that getting involved with cancer research was a no brainer.
“This was something [my wife and I] couldn’t pass up. It is a big honor for me and my family to be a part of this,” says Lester of his involvement with PCRF.
