Would You Rather?

This week’s installment of ‘Would you Rather’ pits two veteran pitchers who aren’t exactly at the top of the free agent class against each other. Dempster is a little older, a solid innings eater and a great leader in the clubhouse. Lohse had his best year last year, and just turned down a $13 million 1-year qualifying offer in hopes of getting a longer term deal. That $13 million would be the largest paycheck he has ever gotten, btw.
So, who would you prefer to have in the middle of your rotation? Would you go more than two-years on either?
Tell us what you think.

Definitely Lohse after coming off such a great year. I definitely think he needs to stay in the NL. I would only sign 2 years max. Both are too old for long term contracts.
You must be kidding, I’d take Dempster anyday over Lohse!
Lohse has shown he can pitch well in the NL, and be a solid 2 or 3 starter, but his innings totals just aren’t all the great until this past year. Can he do that again?
Dempster struggled in the Texas heat, and his age is a huge factor but he will eat innings and be a leader in the clubhouse. The question is do you have enough young pitching that a strong- solid veteran pitcher in your #4 or #5 spot will make you stronger- or do you need someone who can fill the #2 spot in most situations. Dempster can play a #2 but probably isn’t that guy anymore.
