General Manager Meetings

OK- after a couple of days of no new content, I believe the team is all back on-board and ready to roll through the rest of the off-season.  And while we have been getting our ducks in a row, the General Managers have been meeting in Indian Wells, California.  What are the GM meetings?  Well, their time there is filled with a few general meetings held by MLB to go over any new practices that relate to transactions, rules changes, or financial issues that govern all clubs.  MLB will most likely outline the changes to say video review of calls, or say an issue that perhaps MLB is discussing with the Player’s Association.  This is their chance as a group to hear the same information.  It is also their chance to share their concerns about issues that they have, particularly in this first year with a new collective bargaining agreement.

Of course, while they are there, this is also a chance for GM’s and their team’s to talk some preliminary trade talks, and perhaps to get to know each other if there were new GM’s, to get to know that guy.

They also eat well, play some golf most likely and try to avoid the media throng in the lobby of the hotel
