It is a lovely night for some play-off baseball, and here I am at the NYPL semi-final game between the Batavia Muckdogs (short-season A affiliate of the St Louis Cardinals) and the Tri-City Valley Cats (affiliate of te Houston Astros).

This is a beautiful ballpark. It is truly unbelievable that it was built for a short season A ball team. It’s a far cry from Batavia, where the playoffs will continue tomorrow.

The players have just been introduced, and the National Anthem is about to begin.
