Nothing huge going on- though at any moment something could happen with the Manny trade.  Chances are slim that anything will though.  Still, this Steve Dilbeck blog post for the LA Times lays out all the scenarios- some of which are really fun- and the best part is by this time tomorrow we will know if Manny has cleared waivers.  The best part, which I had not put together, is if Manny does end up with the White Sox- all three Sox outfielders will have come from the Dodgers, Juan Pierre, Andruw Jones and Manny.

Nyjer Morgan apparently had an issue with a fan in the stands last Saturday night.  This would have been my lead but I don’t quite have enough information just yet to talk about it too thoroughly.  Morgan has been suspended by MLB for seven games, because after exchanging heated words with one fan in the seats behind him, he threw a ball which hit another fan in the head.  The ball was apparently thrown very hard and injured the second fan.   I know it seems like fun to taunt these guys, like yelling at the movie screen in a theater.  But these are real people that can hear you, and they have emotions too.  I am not in anyway forgiving Morgan, if he let himself react to something stupid a fan said.  Players should just tell security.  Morgan though reacted, and someone got hurt.  He will be punished.  But, lets all remember that these are real people and anything can happen.

And lastly, if you haven’t seen the bit of film of Roy Oswalt catching the ball for the first out of the 15th inning at Citizens Bank Ballpark, here is a link to The Fightin’s - a Phillies blog where the language might possibly offend, but there is plenty of video of both Howard getting angry and Oswalt catching the can of corn.
