OK- I have waited a very long time to write this, hoping the situation might get better.  It hasn’t.  I have even written to MLB.com a number of times.  Its time to speak up.

In my opinion, the MLB.com website is horrible.  It takes forever to load, It is so back-end heavy that it often crashes my computer and even while it is still trying to load the video content starts playing and you can’t shut it off.  If I need scores, I am going to ESPN.com.  Its just that simple.  I might even go to Sportsline.com before MLB, now.

I am sure there are people out with very high-end machines who can handle the new MLB site.  I am sure it looks beautiful on an HD monitor.  I cannot imagine that a large enough percentage of users actually have the equipment to make these upgrades worthwhile, however.  If I do need to go to the main MLB.com site, I enter the URL, and then I get up and make myself another cup of tea, as I know its going to be a long time before I can navigate to what I actually want to see- and my laptop is only about two years old.

Am I alone in this problem?

Agreed. Unless I want to see something in Gameday I avoid MLB.com like the plague. Even then they ask me every time I load a game if I want the paid version… no, no I do not.
I prefer Yahoo. Simple, loads fast, and gives me all the stats.
