This thing about the Sports Illustrated Cover Jinx striking the ‘core four’ Yankees, is ridiculous.  The reason they got that semi-lame moniker is because they have been playing the game and playing together for so long- which means they aren’t that young anymore.  If you thought that Andy Pettitte, Jorge Posada and Mariano Rivera were going to get through this season without any injuries, well, you don’t understand baseball.  That cover has nothing to do with it.

And while I am talking about it- you get on the cover often because you have been around for awhile.  Of course those folks are going to start having injuries.  There is enough bad luck already in the world, we don’t need to look for any more jinxes.
