We speak a lot about baseball players as heroes- which they might be, but we all know there are many folks out there who do many more important things. School teachers and veterans really get the nod way before a baseball player really. Every now and then you find a player who really gets that, and does what he can by using his name or his money to help out the few he can.
Well, last night, a former manager and current Tampa Bay Rays broadcaster, along with 7 other passengers helped subdue a would be terrorist on a red-eye flight from California to Florida. This Marc Topkin piece tells part of the story- which sounds pretty scary if you ask me. And here is a little more details from AOL’s Fanhouse.
