Deaths

Phenomenal Smith (1952) and Sugar Cain (1975) had great nicknames.  Think we can try the latter out with Matt Cain?

1972 – General Crowder, a 167 game winner who twice led the AL in victories while with the Senators

1930 - Wally Moon, a three time All-Star and 1954 Rookie of the Year

1987 – Jay Bruce, the Reds outfielder who was selected 12th overall in the 2005 draft
