Mets Host Twims

Finally, some sun and some warmth here in FLA - first day without long pants and my pasty white legs are blinding. Oh well.

Sitting in the stands at Tradition Field, watching the Twins take BP. Something about the Twins, they always look crisp, even doing the most routine things.

While Steinbrenner Field is the most stadium like spring park in the grapfruit league, the Mets might have one of the accessible, and comfortable parks. They have a picnic area, and an outfield grass area with concessions. Most parks skip putting that stuff out in the ” cheap seats”.

Some thoughts from last nights Mets game- David Wright looked terrible on defense- just reall had trouble with anything hit hard his way- almost like when he first came up.

Oliver Perez- well, I just am baffled. He looks bored when he throws anything but a fastball. Maybe he is in love with the radar gun. The problem is he can throw hard, but not accurately. That means he could walk the ballpark if he doesn’t just get lucky with the strike zone. I was close enough last night to really watch his face- to me I think I think he has no idea how to pitch, and yet he thinks he does. He doesn’t know that throwing isn’t pitching. I think he us actually surprised when someone makes contact.

On a positive note, Jeff Francoeur looked like a vacuum cleaner in right and Jason Bay’s bat looked great.

Angel Pagan can not be the leadoff hitter, just not a good enough eye.

Hopefully, there will be some positive things come out of today’s game.

Here is a shot of BP:
