1953 – Braves owner Lou Perini announces that he will seek the approval of the National League to move the Braves from Boston to Milwaukee.
1960 – Thanks to Bill Veeck, the White Sox are the first team to feature road jerseys that have the players name on the back. This helps opposing fans identify the players.
2008 – Comedian Billy Crystal stikes a one-day contract with the New York Yankees to play in a Spring Training Game, and strikes out in his only plate appearance.

1964 – Will Clark, a five-time All-Star with the Giants and once with the Rangers.
1979 – Johan Santana, A former Rule 5 pick who from 2004-06 led the AL each year in SO, ERA+, WHIP, H/9 and SO/9.
