Very short post here, since I seem to be having internet trouble, but just have to say- wouldn’t it be cool to be coached how to play first by Keith Hernandez? Adam Rubin is writing about Hernnadez working with Daniel Murphy today. I know I get a little down on his “when I played” type of broadcasting, but to have him as my tutor at first base- well, he could do all the “when I played” type stuff he wanted, since he actually was pretty darn good when he played.
Now I just want to be clear- so no one gets the wrong idea. I am actually talking about him coaching me playing baseball- no double entendre here. I’m not sure Keith is a player I’d actually want to be friends with in the real world. Hope Daniel Murphy knows how lucky he is.
Now I’m not sure why Rubin needs to bring up this as a bit of marketing. Hernandez was one of the best, and he works for the team’s broadcast arm, SNY. The Mets should be indicted if they didn’t at least ask him to help out, not because they did.
