Here is a link to a David Brown story about Baseball Prospectus and their predictions for this season. Using PECOTA, their unique way to determine wins for a team, they have determined that the Yankees will be third in their division with, get this, 93 wins. Generally, Baseball Prospectus puts this stuff behind a pay wall or I would link right to it, but the Brown piece will give you the background.
BP has Tampa winning 96 games and Boston winning 95. Are the Yankees going to lose all their head to head games with these two teams? That would be tough with their pitching staff.
This might be the topic for a longer entry tomorrow, but for now check out the Brown piece and let me know what you think.

I said they would finish third a couple of days ago!! See Message Board - Predictions.
I know you did, but you didn’t say they would win 93 wins. It would be very hard for three teams in one division to finish with 93 or more wins. That’s the point. Besides, we all know you are bit of a Yankee-hater Mike.
Is it’s “The World Champion New York Yankees” that you think will finish third ?
Joe, I think you forgot the 27 time World Champion Yankees.
