So, I am taking Tuesday Trivia to myself this week. From all the events I go to, from the Baseball Winter Meetings trade show to the All-Star Game to various dinners, I end up with a lot of baseball related products. This week I have put together a grab a bag of prizes, including a Vlad Gurrerro Key chain, Sportsmoves instructional baseball training cards, some cool books, and, hopefully a surprise based on the winners team of choice! Simply leave the correct answer in the comment box below.
Here is the question: Yesterday was Curt Flood’s birthday. We all know that Curt spend most of his career with the St Louis Cardinals, and hopefully we also know that Flood was also traded to the Philadelphia Phillies to whom he refused to report. He then sued MLB and many think that this was the reason the commissioners offices agreed to creating an independent arbitration process for grievances. That process created free agency. Well, the Phillies eventually traded away their rights to Flood, tired of waiting for him to play. Who did they trade Flood to, and know that he did report to this team for his final career year.
