Next year I have to remember to do a Hanukah week of posts, but time slipped right by me this year. Today though is Christmas, and as we learned earlier this week, Rickey Henderson’s birthday.
I just want to take some time this Christmas morning to thank my readers from this past year. As the traffic grows, it makes it much easier to get up each morning and rush to the computer. Not only am I always excited to see what is happening in the baseball world but I have really grown to enjoy picking the details apart and finding something to say that no one else is saying- or at least trying to.
This year has seen the site grow. We have new writers in a few areas, and we have some new technology that wasn’t here last year. Next year will bring a few new surprises.
On a personal note, I have found it easier to write wherever I am. I spent months in Ohio this summer while my mother recovered from a serious illness. I am back in Ohio this morning, readying to celebrate a Christmas treat that I did not think would come 6 months ago. My life has changed in many many ways in this past year. The travel that this life demands makes relationships difficult, yet it also shows you who is important and how special those people are. 2010 as so many I know begin new and exciting journeys together. For those that had a rough 2009, a new year is almost here and anything is possible. Life is too short to look back.
So, may all of your holiday wishes come true today. May your find the peace and love that you all so richly deserve.
And may your team find that missing arm, or that hidden prospect that will make them ride a wave to the post-season. Only 55 days until pitchers and catchers report!
