Just in time to beging to make our dream lists for 2010, Robert Tuchman’s The 100 Sporting Events You Must See Live: An Insider’s Guide to Creating the Sports Experience of a Lifetime is a great book which highlights the coolest of sporting events and is sponsoring our trivia contest this week. Each event in Tuchman’s guide includes recommended hotels, travel packages, to make your trip easy to plan. What’s Tuchman’s number 1 event? The Master’s- one of the hardest tickets around. Highest baseball recommendation? Red Sox and Yankees at Yankee Stadium. That’s enough to tell me he knows what he’s talking about.   There are the ones that anyone might guess, and quite a few unexpected.  I may be a baseball fan, but I have to say I want to head out to see how many of these I can check off the list- especially fun are the international ones. This book is more than just a list. It is a true guide befitting any traveling sports fan!

Today’s Question: There are 69 past and current MLB players born on December 25th. Current players include Willy Taveras, Ruben Gotay and Hideki Okajima. There are three Hall of Famers as well: Pud Glavin, Nellie Fox and this most recently inducted Hall of Famer who toured the baseball world by playing for 9 MLB teams and a couple of independent league teams during his career. (He holds a couple of records too… but I think telling you that would make the question too easy.)
