Traditions to Get Rid of

The Baltimore Sun’s blog has had each of its writers pick a sports tradition to get rid of. Can’t say I agree with all of them, in fact, I am not sure I agree with any of them, but with the dirth of baseball news, I thought it would be an interesting thing to mention and see what you think. The four thoughts broken down to the simplest form are:

1. No more Star Spangled Banner, unless its one of the big games, like the playoffs.

2. No more ceremonial handshake between coaches after a football game, unless they like each other. (Kinda lame.)

3. No more ceremonial first pitch, unless its with someone really famous. (I would agree with this in the minor leagues, especially.)

4. No more 7th inning stretch. (are you kidding me?  Maybe we don’t need to sing, but we do need to be reminded to stand up!)

That’s it.  On the one hand, I see their points, on the other though….
