For those of you who may not be aware, we moved the LoveMyTeam blog over to Wordpress back in April.  It was the greatest thing ever to have happened to LoveMyTeam since it made not only blogging so much easier, but it also made it easier to find LoveMyTeam in so many different sources!

Since over this past year, we have gained so much readership, I thought I would do just a quick review of the last year, in order to show you moments that made me thankful for getting to do this on a daily basis.  Here are my top 10 posts.

5.  Baseball in Goodyear: The blog turned over while I was traveling for spring training, and so its fitting that the first on this list comes from that stretch.  Baseball came to Goodyear, AZ where the Indians spring home opened last season.  The Reds will join them there this year.  The post contains a couple of photos from outside the ballpark, one of a staue that is compared to a Brancusi sculpture.  This post is the 3rd site that comes up when you google “Brancusi-bird in flight”.  Nothing quite like spring training.  As an adendum, you can check out my spring training site rankings.  I have visited them all!  Check out what I thought.

4. Blogger’s can save Baseball: Written during the mid-summer blogger in the basement controversy, this one got me fired up for days.  Bloggers don’t have to be journalists- but they can be.  Or they can be more important than journalists.

3. Maybe the Yankees Just Aren’t that Good:   Yes, I did write that early in the year.  I can’t believe it myself.  But, since I am pulling out some of the finer moments of the past year, I thought it was worth noting how a season evolves…. (My early season predictions had the Yankee fareing a bit better though I never would have guessed how the story ended.) Congratulations again on #27!

2. MLB Civil Rights Roundtable:  I am fortunate to get to a lot of the special events surrounding baseball, and this was one of those highlights.  Baseball’s civil rights game is heading towards “tradition” in the HOV lane, and here was my first experience with the roundtable surrounding it.

1.. Why the Bats Go Silent:  In the post-season, players get criticized often for ‘not showing up.’ Well, there is more to it than that.  This is by far the best piece I wrote all season.  Hopefully, 2010 will bring a few more of these moments!

Ok, so I didn’t pick too many game stories out of the last season to point to. Perhaps that is a sign that my game stories aren’t all that special, or perhaps it is because they are all too special for me to pick just one.  What I do know is that I am lucky enough to write about this game on a daily basis, and I am lucky enough to interact with so many baseball fans each year.   Some though this website, and so many more while sitting in the stands.  I am thankful today that baseball lasts for 6 months of the year.  I am thankful that I now, we can find a game anywhere.  I am thankful that I am surrounded by those that care about me and cheer me on as I continue this ride.  I am thankful that each day new readers stop for a moment to hear what I have to say.

Thank you to all who have shared a moment of your day with LoveMyTeam.com.

May your next year be as blessed as my last year has been!
