No matter what your feelings are about Milton Bradley, how the article that appeared today in the Chicago Tribune is supposed to help the outfielder or the team play better is beyond me. Sure I know its not the writer’s job to help the team, but in the case the player doesn’t even actually provide a truly inciendiary quote, asw Cubscast.com points out. Are there racist fans in the world? Cant argue there aren’t. Why does Bradley need to tell you exactly what was said for him to be in the right? Did he do something to these fans to retaliate? Nope. He vented in the clubhouse it sounds like. Shouldn’t that be OK?
So why would a pretty good writer decide to write such a slanted article? Because A. the Tribune needs to sell papers, and B. since the team has been sold they now have the room to make the team look bad, since the selling price won’t be affected. If this is the kind of shift the Tribune is going to do editorially, well every Cubs fans should cancel their subscription.
Way to go Cubscast.com.

Hey Johanna, thanks for backing me up!
Bradley is a total jerk!!! No one should defend him! He has had a horrible year and now is attacking the fans, including the race card. None of his teammates will defend him because he is a total loser. I blame the Cubs for signing him in the first place but for him to use the race card is inexcusable!! He is one of the all-time losers in baseball history!!
it was a pleasure to talk sports with u at foley’s today with u and pete. jvcelt@hotmail.com
Here is the thing SoxFan…. he might be a total jerk, but the article was written with no supporting facts. Did they go through his history? Did they point out that no one would support him? Since the quotes are not that complete, how did this story come about… no background.
The Tribune wrote a very fluff piece that further damages someone rep for no reason other than to sell newspapers… that should make us all question someone else’s character besides Bradley’s.
