There is plenty to write about today, but I have to start with Mariano Rivera reaching the 500 saves mark with his closing out of the Mets/Yanks series last night. That Hall of Fame moniker gets bandied about pretty easily, but Mariano easily deserves it. There are plenty of places to read about the game last night, but Ian O’Connor tells the story of how Rivera almost went to Seattle to begin his Hall of Fame journey. Anyone who misses the Boss making all kinds of crazy decisions should read this piece as well, because it shows the value of having quality baseball men- and listening to them- for any owner.
Tip of the Cap to you Mo! May we all get to watch you until you pass Trevor Hoffman, too.
