There is a piece in the New York Times today about all those fans who purchased expensive tickets in the new ballparks with the thought that they could resell them for a profit., only to discover that not many folks want to pay those prices to see a baseball game. As our newest front office writer, Mike Robbins points out, this is the year when there are deals to be made for tickets in nearly any ballpark.
This is great for fans. Between trips to minor league parks, deals on tickets for the major league parks can make for affordable vacations for families. And its good for teams too, because they do need to understand there is a limit to what fans will spend- and perhaps a limit to what they should spend as well.
