Tomorrow is the MLb amateur draft, and so I thought I would throw up a little light reading to prepare you for the minimal amount of drama that is to be expected. If you haven’t heard, the Washington Nationals who pick first are going to take Stephen Strasburg, a pitcher out of San Diego State University and has put up some crazy numbers this year. The story doesn’t sound so suspenseful, now does it?
Well, Ken Davidoff provides a little background on how bonus money is expected to be handed out by MLB and what Strasberg’s agent, Scott Boras has to say about what his client deserves.
Joe Posnanski wrote a blog piece a couple of days ago about why MLB doesn’t allow teams to trade draft picks. It gives some nice tidbits about the power of Scott Boras, and what could happen in a world where Boras is actually Big Brother.
Look for more on this everywhere you look in the next 48 hours!
