In reading through game stories this morning I found one that really stuck out for me. This piece by Troy E. Renck had some interesting items, including something that was probably on Sportscenter last night, the fact that two teammates, Felipe Lopez and Tony Clark, each homered from both sides of the plate. They are the first teammates to do it since Jorge Posada and Bernie Williams did it in 2000.
The Rockies lost the game 9-8, and as Troy Tulowitzski pointed out, “when [the Rockies] score 8 runs [they] should win.”
And if you think CC was bad yesterday, perhaps you didn’t notice Brandon Webb 4 innings, 6 runs. For the Rockies’ side of things, according to Renck, Cook traced his bad performance to losing his balance point in his delivery, and apparently not finding it again.
The good news for the Rockies is they have 161 more. The bad news for the Rockies is they have 161 more.
