So, clearly there is nothing more to write about today then yesterday’s HOF election results. And though I am still not a believer in Rice, I always get a little won over when I see how happy that borderline guy is upon getting the call. Nick Carfado’s piece gives you that, as well as a way to look at Rice’s career that makes you go, OK On-base didn’t really matter. It might also be a good piece for Michael Young to read, or maybe he should just give Yaz a call, since it might have been Yaz that the got the Red Sox to what Dan Shaughnessy called the greatest World Series ever played in 1975. My sentiment, his words. Ann Killian writes about Rickey, who we may see in an Oakland uniform one day this year, so that he can officially retire an Oakland A. Congrats to both men on their induction– Anyone going to make the trip? Let us know on the messageboard!
Tuesday Trivia:
This weeks winner of the LoveMyTeam Tuesday Trivia contest will win a copy of Dan Migala’s Dugout Wisdom reviewed in the LoveMyTeam.com Best Books section of the site. In honor of the two Hall of Famer’s we are going to do a two parter– first, name the last three Red Sox outfielders to go into the hall, and second, tell me the last Major League team that Rickey Henderson played for. Know the answers? Send them to me along with your email address so I can contact you by using the text box below. Anyone who has not already won this prize is eligible. Good Luck!
