So my pal, Darek, the agent of AJ Burnett becomes the next darling of Vegas, with AJ being the next guy to sign.  Scott Boras hasn’t even made the obligatory walk through the lobby, which he usually does to make sure he is getting some press.  That can really only mean he doesn’t have a way to spin the lack of offers to Manny or Tex.

Really the number of small deals that have gotten done are surprising, and are putting some teams in great shape.  The O’s getting rid of Ramon Hernandez contract is big.  They still won’t be very good, but they are moving in the right direction, if only Andy McPhail is able to keep his job.  If not, the next guy will look like a genius, since he will only have to fill the holes, not just shed payroll.  The Royals, I think, will be big in the next week or so at moving some players, as I have seen many a side conversation with one of their guys about who is available, and their are a lot of relievers that are available, and I know there has been some early inquiries between the Rockies and the Phillies, though not sure who for.  I will gather a few good stories as the evening goes on, so hopefully a good post when you awake tomorrow.
