Really, until the awards start being announced later today there isn’t a whole lot of “new” stuff out there, unless you want to read about Andy Pettitte filing fro free agency, just as a step so he can resign with the Yanks when they are ready to focus on their bird in the hand.  Really, the only think new out there is that the list is forming for the GM job in Seattle, and it sounds like a long list.  The leaders on it are a guy from Boston and a guy from the South side of Chicago….those guys seem to be popular everywhere these days.  Here is the John Hickey piece.  Of course, Willie Randolph (long-shot) and Bobby Valentine are on the list as well.  But Joey Cora and Brad Mills seem to be two guys that will be interviewed sooner rather than later.  Cora was part of one of the seminal moments in the 1995 playoffs for the Mariners, so could be a real home-town favorite.  He also has a great line about the “Mariner way”— a line he is waiting to use in the interview for the job.

With the announcements coming this week for the Baseball Writers Awards, I want to remind you that LoveMyTeam gives out awards as well…. we give out the Fan Friendly Awards and we need your help to determine the 5 players that will get the awards.  Voting closes in mid-December, so take some time to cast your vote!  If you have had an interaction with a current player, or even been a witness to one, let’s here about it.  The only way these awards work is with your participation.

Also, just a quick reminder with Christmas coming, that if you are buying a gift from one of our sponsors– Amazon.com anyone?– please remember to click through from LoveMyTeam.  Its an easy way to support this website without you having to contribute a dime.
