Would love to be inside the head of Derek Jeter.  Is he wondering how his blessed life could leave him with his playoff future in the hands of Sidney Ponson?  Is he still telling himself that the Yankees can make the playoffs, when Brian Cashman isn’t even putting in waiver claims on players that will help the Red Sox?  Mark Kotsay got shipped to Boston because he cleared waivers, which means the Yanks could have stopped it, but didn’t. Just what is Jeter thinking?  Is he blaming ARod?  Giardi? Phil Hughes? Himself? Or does he just realize that all good things must come to an end.  Yep, I know its dangerous to count the Yankees out. In fact, I am not really sure they are out, but I can’t help thinking the Derek Jeter might.  Sure the Mets blew a 7 game lead in the last two weeks, and the Rockies won 10 out of 11 to make it into the playoffs so anything really can happen.  But what is Derek Jeter thinking?
