I love Brandon Inge, have for years.  Pete Caldera of the Bergen record calls me Mrs. Inge, because I am always upset when ARod wins a gold glove over the small, under-touted Tiger. Inge has been shoved aside for Miguel Cabrera and his power, and thats understandable if you are the Tigers, but those that don’t see him everyday don’t realize how good he is on defense… his 18 errors may belie the fact, but he can pick at moments too.  Inge is going to pick back up the tools of ignorance and work-out as a catcher to get as many opportunities to play, but he is unhappy he will not be an everyday guy at any position.  Unfortunately, he is well-payed so it makes him look a bit like a cry-baby, but he was on the team that lost 120 games a few years ago, the last everyday player, and he has put in his time.  The contract though makes it tough to move him though. Jon Paul Morosi’s article today spells out the yucky situation.  With Inge’s age, and the type of player he is, this could be the begining of the end.  If I were Philly, I would have found a way to get a deal done before I went to Pedro Feliz to fill their 3rd base hole.  Inge and Rollins would make a beautiful pair on that side of the infield.
