I just realized that usually I post the time of my entry in eastern time but since I have been out here, in AZ its been in local, pacific time.  I apologize if that’s caused any confusion.

Today I am in the land of the Cubs and of the Cubs fan!  I stopped by minor league camp early in the day, and was lucky enough to see  them do some stretching and drills with all their minor leaguers, about 130 guys plus coaching.  I always think that’s one of the coolest things of the spring, to are all of thiar guys in the same uniform all trying to make an impression and stand out and realizing how many of those guys doing their slides steps will never make it to double AA,  let alone to see Wrigley.

The Cubs ticket is one of the toughest to get in spring training, especially with so much hope this year. Its a great mix of young and old here, too. The food here is the best variety, and you can purchase a liter of water, rather than have to but several 8oz bottles. The liter of course costs $5 but in this 92 degree desert heat you need the water.

The cubs are throwing out a great line up today, with nearly all of their starters, while the Mariners have only a couple of their big league guys.  The others might have been brought to see how they would fair against the left handed Ted Lilly.
